Hawa was given distribution rights by Key Electronics to market their Liberian Made security alarm systems in Sierra Leone and throughout Africa under the Mano River Union agreement to which HAWA Security was a member. Mr. Edwin York, a colleague of Mr. King made local alarm systems for the market.
Although they were competitors in one area of the market, they nevertheless were able to professionally operate to the advantage of each other strengths. This enable the clients to benefit from their years of experience in their respective field.
The latest state of the art detection equipment were available. Local Banks were tied up with direct alarm link to the control center of HAWA Security Systems offices, monitored with close circuit TV station from the bank to its facilities.
The MD himself can recall his own sales and marketing methods of door to door marketing of his alarm systems to residential Monrovia. His efforts paid off and he thereafter trained his security alarm systems team to do the same. How to approach customers and how to market what HAWA was selling - a peace of mind while residents slept at nights. The success was seen, when local residents began to rent and then later passed on the news about unsuccessful attempts of burglaries at their homes. Then more obtained the services of HAWA. The reputation had now spread around.
