As personnel manager for over 15 years in the United States, I am always amazed at the lack of preparation those from Africa and other countries have been given to face the new society. I have seen over the years how my simply advice to the new arrivals during interviews, have created a change in the person.Many of them have left my interview and stated that they came for a job but I had given them more then what they had come for. That even if they did not get the job, that I had given them something of more value - a way for them to go to more job interviews more confidently - that I had understood their problems and conditions and so they could relate to me and what I had passed on to them.
